It’s time for a better way to build.

The construction industry has been pushed past its breaking point and now cannot keep up with demand, forcing developers and builders into a race to the bottom, sacrificing efforts towards sustainability and health quality for lower upfront costs.

Our Vision

Because construction costs account for 61% of the total price of a home, improving the construction process is necessary to address the housing crisis.

We have redefined what a home needs to provide to its inhabitants and have designed a completely novel construction process, optimized to build that new type of home.

Reduce Climate Impact

The energy needed to provide heat and light for a building is only half of the equation in terms of sustainability and carbon impact. We build Net Zero Energy homes to address that half but in order to truly provide sustainable housing, our building material has the lowest embodied carbon emissions on the planet . By removing plastics and foams, we do not add to the growing microplastics pervading the globe.

Make Housing Accessible to All

By reducing direct costs as well as build times, we can bring home prices back in line with what people can afford. Construction costs are the largest contributor to final home prices. HumanKind Homes is able to build more homes faster, we can add much-needed inventory to address the supply-side shortage.

Reduce Labor Shortages

Traditionally, it takes years to train new tradespeople. By simplifying the construction process, we source labor from a broader pool, and we can train them in months while still providing a high level of safety and quality control. This reduces labor costs, speeds up build times, and provides a new career path for entirely new groups of people traditionally excluded.

Provide Healthy Homes

By using a healthy material without any dangerous additives our structures are the healthiest on the planet. Geopolymer concrete is non-toxic and by reducing build costs, we can invest in healthier components and appliances such as whole-home air and water filtration as a standard feature.

Simplify Supply Chains

A direct cause for rising construction costs is the fragility and fragmentation of global supply chains. Due to the high number of individual components needed to build a home, any one small break in the supply chain can cause outsized cost and time increases. By using a single, hyper-local supply chain of recycled materials, we are insulated from global supply chain chaos while reducing the associated costs and carbon emissions.

Use Modern Technologies

Today’s construction is still based on a process created hundreds of years ago. That process was originally created to use the technologies available at the time. Optimizing that process fails to take into account the massive advances we have seen in manufacturing technologies. We base our entire end-to-end process on digital, automated, and modern engineering practices. We don’t try to use yesterday’s technology to solve today’s problems.
